Anyone bought a copy of this yet?
Loved the original underground and most wanted games when i was growing up as a kid, the visuals and trailers looked good for this new one on the PS4 looked awesome....but
seen a few reviews lately slagging it off, lot more negatives than positives,
just wanna see if anyone has got it and what their take on it was? is it worth buying it?
anything like the games of old we loved... or is it a shity re-boot with nice graphics that gloss over the crap?
i know its not GT6 or Forza, just want the classic arcade game and modding that i grew up with

Very little like Underground, from what I've seen and read. Looks to be a mediocre affair.

Apparently you can't play offline, my cousin was debating on this or Fallout 4 and went for the latter.

Yeah it's okay, personally I'd wait for it to drop in price. Not that many cars that you can buy either (imo) range from a Volvo to a F40. Modifications are huge and gone in the style of GT as where you can upgrade individual parts like the air filter, sway bars,suspension etc, pretty difficult to actually get into a police chase, to finish some daily objectives. Over all it's an okay arcade-y game. If that's what you're looking for.
Edit: Yeah online only, as for the story mode, you're with other players so if you're doing a race, joe bloggs could be coming round the corner unbeknown and smash into you. I know this from experience

hmmm, might browse the pre-owned sections and wait for a price drop, hopefully at that point there will be some more DLC and updates that fixes a few of the problems
saw a few youtube vids showing the games weather and night cycles changing depending where you drive...does look a bit shit

list of cars depresses me,
underground two was good because the cars were more realistic to actually own,
the fact you had to start with a 106 or corsa was brilliant. lambo's and ferraris should be band from this game

Just press the touchpad. This will take you into a Pause style menu with options/select friends/daily objectives etc.

Pre-ordered so i could get the E46 m3, glad i did because i also get 10% off everything in game too including cars.
Its a Ł40 game, nothing more. Can get rep level 50 in a couple days if you smash it.
The game is gorgeous and the soundtrack is great through my Astro headset. The paint/decal customization is insane
Yeah its online only but in 2015, who the F doesn't have the internet?
Overall the game is what id expect from a NFS game given that the last one i played was underground 2 with a vauxhall corsa C

I'm on Xbox One, so not sure if it is different, but this menu does not pause the gameplay, so you still loose the race if you need to answer the door/phone etc.

That's the way around it, but it's a feature in the game as you have to get photo shots for completion.

When racing an event, you are not against other players online. If you go and repeat the race, its the same cars and the same names racing against you.
but I do hate the online aspect, when on a timed run often there is another player heading towards you and deliberately crash head on causing me to fail the event and have to go back and start again. Being able to pause and restart would be a helpful feature. I guess thats why EVERY other racing game has it

I've been playing this on EA Access, I really like the aesthetic of it actually, driving around at night can feel quite dreamlike and surreal at times. The engine sounds really are cracking too.
I just wish there was more traffic to make it seem more 'alive'
The gameplay is pretty similar to Forza Horizon.
I quite like the dudebro characters too. The lack of cockpit view is a bit of a bummer but I can live without it.
