to settle the arguemtn you can put webers on the 2.0xe
you need the DCOE alpha kit which costs 850 quid and includes manifold, 2 sidedraught carbs with filters, an alpha 3d ignition system with throttle position sensor, throttle linkage kit and full instructions.
dont know how well they work in comparison to throttle bodies but here is the number
01932 787100
if the number dont work then soz, its from ages ago - and the alpha kit is also quite old so there mite be sumthin new out now
hope it helps

The argument wasn't about whether it can be done, its about his attitude!

Tb's are more efficent and produce more power. They are the modern equivelent of twin carbs I guess. Carbs are manually adjusted whereas TB's are controled by a ECU, so there is many more options and more scope for adjustment. TB's cost a fair bit more though.
TB's can offer better fuel economy as well, I have mine set up to be fuel efficient below 25% throttle and for the power at high throttle.

for a complete tb set up your looking at about £1700.
You basically need the same stuff as for carbs, plus engine management.
So:
The actual bodies
Inlet manifold
linkage
trumpets
filter
Throttle position sensor
ECU
Loom
New coil
Bigger injectors
Fuel pressure regulator
It all adds up!

TBs from SBD on a 1.6 corsa costs a shade under £2000, then to get full power from them ull need their exhaust manifold, another £300, then ull need a Grp a exhaust cos the exhaust manifold has a 2.5" outlet pipe
alot of money, then u gotta fit it or pay some1 to fit it, but well worth it when u hear them babys roar!
