The only time I would take my car to Vauxhall is if I needed something done that can ONLY be done by a main dealer. Everything else I just buy the parts myself and get my mechanic to fit!

Check very carefully whether you car needs a cambelt, or if it has a timing chain. I told the dealer I had a 99 1.2 16v engine and he quoted £180 for the timing belt etc.
A month later I popped in for an oil filter (cheaper than Halfords) as I do my own oil change and was told that the 1.2 has a timing chain. Great ! Now I know that i need do nothing until it rattles (around 80K miles ?).
But the question is, why didn't the muppet at the dealers know this ?

I use a company called Universal Tyres in Dunstable for my servicing.
£45 inc vat for a service, don't know about a cambelt. They know what they are talking about too.
