how i would do it is wire up a multi point relay (dunno what the really name it), basically one relay that could switch a number of connections, to the door switch (one relay per switch) then to ya neons etc. This can obviously be done electronically if ya have the knowledge, however you may be wire up something if the switch uses negs instead of pos +, i dunno, read the haynes manual? lol

im not very good when it comes to car wiring.
ive found the switch in the door that turns the light off when the doors shut, can i wire into this and if so what shall i wire in + or - ?
If i wired into this switch and put the other wires to the battery would it work?

I have just done this,
I bought a max power multi switch box from halfords £20.
It has 4 outlets for + and - , which means you can have 4 different neons or what ever in your car all you need to do is wire the the switch box to your battery or i used the fag lighter + & - as i dont smoke!!!

Right if you want them to light when you open the door, your proberbly best off running a wire straight to the battery, but make sure you have an inline fuse (10A should be more than enough) between the battery and the neon. This wire from the battery goes onto the +'ve poles of both the battery and the neon light. For the negatives, you'll need to run a wire from the -'ve side of the neon light, and then join it into the wire coming off the back of the door switch (You'll only need to join it to one of the door switches, as their both linked).
Job done

Next to the door hinge, you can pick up the wiring if you take the covers off in the footwell if i remember right.
