Right, it all started when I took it for a spin down my street and the engine management came on and it wouldnt idle, I turned it off and started it again hoping it would cure it but no luck, now it wont fire up at all, the engine is turning over fast enough but it wont fire into life.
Its getting a bit worrying now as I dont have a lot of cash at the moment and need it back on the road asap.

Any ideas folks?????

if its turning over fast enough it wont be the battery. first thing to do is to c if its sparking if it is. then check for fueling

^^ but dont they have cam and crank sensors?? or does the ignition work differently to the cav. ie if the crank position sensor goes down, it still has the cam position sensor and goes to limp home mode.

but yeh, unscrew a spark plug, plug it into your ignition lead and hold it against the block or head, get someone to crank it over and see if you got a spark

yeah just need ignition on, i also thought if the crank sensor was faulty you can turn the engine over for roughly 7 seconds then it switches to limp home mode and runs on a basic map

Right i've got fuel as advised so thats another problem ruled out, can someone tell exactly how to do the paper clip test and does the engine have to be ticking over for it to work or can I just turn on the ignition??

no the engine doesnt need to be running u short out to pins (not sure which ones off the top of my head) then turn the key till all the lights on the dash lightup but dont start the car. then the ecu light with flash a certian amount of times with pauses in between. EG 8 flashes then a pause then 4 flashes then another pause. this would be fault code 84.

it flashes the code three times.

Note some cars flash code 12 threes times then the proper flash code. ignore the 12.

hope i havent confused u.
