No, it should run fine on DX9 machines. I think it's been optimised for use on DX9 and DX10. Obviously it'll look a little better on DX10 (but I couldn't tell the difference on Bioshock between 9 and 10)

I understand that there will be a dx9 overlay which should improve things. I dont think it will be shit in 9 myself.
Im using vista and own a dx9 card (ATI X1900 XTX).

That's an awesome gaming machine. How much it set you back all together mate and where you get it from if you don't mind me asking?
Mine's at the lower end of the pc range though, had it 6 years, just upgraded it.
3.0 GHz P4, 2.5GB RAM and a 512mb X1950 PRO.

Those videos are pretty terrible quality, but it is the best game I have ever seen graphically. Also, the new physics engine is said to be the most realistic ever made. I even read something about the US Special forces using it to do simulations or something.
That coupled with the multiplayer which is said to be one of the best gaming experiences ever, according to the beta testers, is going to make this a top game.

the 1950 mid range are still not as good as the 1900 XTX (512) i have.
I think the new range is like the 2900 aint it? very costly, dx10 compatible.
May be better off waiting for next gen or two.

best getin a 8600 for 65 quid u cant go wrong
then either a 2600HD ddr4 which runs 2200 by 1400 ther like £100 runs way faster than the lower spec 2900 HighDef's
or if ur uber cool get a 8800gt think ther abt ?180 up to the gts an gtx/ gtx ultra which can cost up to abt £400 dependin on level of card eg 320mb-700+mb
in the 8800 series its totally different the way the distribute the memory and graphical output!
they will be dropin in price soon as the 9series is due out

No point in downloading the beta, it's been out ages. I haven't played it but it's abit buggy apparently. The demo comes out tomorrow with all the bugs fixed so why bother? lol.

The beta goes through stages... where it's updated and patched as it's tested... the initial beta would of been buggy as hell, the latest version will be as solid as what they're about to release ... hence the whole point of a beta test.
The difference is... Beta's generally are a 'Test' pre release version of the full game. A demo on the other hand is just a cut down sample of the game.
Take TDU for example.
I played the late Beta for that and got to play the full game, all cars, all area's etc. Was great fun.
The demo of TDU released was just a sample of cars, sample of area, sample of races etc.
Beta is designed to test the full game and find bugs.
Demo is designed to give the user a small sample taste of the full game to get them to buy the full game.

Yeah, I know what a beta test is, I just wondered why you'd want to d/l it now when the demo is out soon.
BTW, The demo as been delayed AGAIN. Will be out for everyone to d/l tomorrow.
