With the MOT pending, relised that the fan does not come on when hot (had to try as it never gets hot!)
Tried bridging the wires but this doesn't work
Tried changing the fan switch -
What else could I do?

Update!!
Fan works if you run a live + earth to it
Fan doesn't come on if left to boil
Fan doesn't come on if you bridge the fan switch wires

If you look at the engine from the front, what's the blue switch to the left of the engine, attached to the head??

..which is ok. The engine wont blow up at 100oC.
definately the fan switch though, probably has a load of shite blocking it at the bottom of the rad so best to flush that out aswell.

Just changed the rad switch though?
and if you bridge the wires going to the fan switch it doesn't come on as it would

Thanks superlite!
any idea why it's not working though? could be dodgy wiring going into the fan switch? as it won't bridge etc now?

Have you let it heat up to under the red line?
My XE runs to 105c sometimes before the fan starts.
Sport kicks in just under 100c.

I bought a genuine fan switch from the dealer near me. It went to about a needles width over, then come on.
