On a 1999 Corsa 1.2SXi with standard alloys, could be 14" not sure, what are the most effective brakes anyones seen squeezed behind them? Any ideas like some fancy alcon items or anything? Otherwise it'll be a case of changing the alloys, but dont really wanna do that!

not sure if he's wanting to spend all that money on 4pots for a 1.2 sxi! brakes would be far to good for the car, almost being too powerful and dangerous!
i would go for the 2.0l 256mm ones and even there very good! although these often struggle with a spongy pedal feel, but braided lines etc would help this.

would they fit, or will the caliper hit the wheel though? dont wanna be screwing about with spacers! Are ate calipers enough to haul down 275bhp? they'll roast wont they?? or would that be all 256mm setups? bar ceramic discs!!

may have to space wheels if using multipots.
i would want something a bit better than 1x tiny piston to stop 275hp IMO

o i say maybe its slightly more serious!
the 2.0l 256 ones do fit, as i have them, tight but fine! dont over do the brakes! unless you've got a professional setup, brake bias etc, or ABS

i didnt say they wernt fine, im sure they work very well.... but being the car is so small, people have often found them too strong finding it easy to lock up! was only saying, no need for the talking crap!

before i get told im talking crap again! my personal views would be to go for the 2.0l 256mm setup, as there very good (have them on a friends rally car). are you using any kind of brake bias front to back etc?

nope, ive got 300mm brembo's on mine at the moment and they've been fine. Didnt people used to get problems with the brakes from lowering the back too much and locking up the rear wheels? I had astra gte brakes on mine when it was 2.0xe and they were brilliant, but after bleeding them once, they went spongy as a lot of people find them and were never the same again! Just not sure if they'll be man enough on a track day with the speeds it'd be reaching

o right i see, ive got 2.0l ones on my corsa at the moment, ill admit im not doing breakneck speeds but still very good. i find if decellerating quickly i have to use the box alot to prevent the front from locking.
i guess its your own choice, you can get a 2.0l setup brakes pads callipers etc for quite cheap so my guess wud be to try it out. but your choice

to start with, yes. If I decide its no good, i'll change them. I'd like comp mo's but dont want the car to look anything from standard tbh. Might try find some 15" alloys....

i had 2ltr brakes and i dont they were good enough for my 1.4 so i put some 300mm ones on. a few hard stops down country lanes and i found they faded quite a bit i had drilled and grooved discs on as well

288m v6's will go under most 15's.
rallydesign, can supply you some willwood dynalites, to suit discs from 240mm upwards, with matched pistons for the standard corsa master cylinder.
