For specialised uses like music/video editing, CAD, gaming, is it better to go for a PC or Mac solution?

My brother in law is a DJ/recording artist and he uses Macs, when I see him next week I might ask him why he uses them instead of PCs.
Don't really understand why they are used, esp. as nowadays Macs are Intel based?

Logic and final cut pro is why macs are used.
No anti virus shit to slow it down too.

I always thought it was years ago when Macs were better for that kind of thing, but now it doesn't really make a difference.

After being a devoted Windows nerd for several years I switched to Mac 5 years ago. I will probably never switch back, because:
Workflow is much smoother with a better and more logical interface.
I can not be arsed with drivers and hardware settings.
My life is too short for 30-step installers compared to drag-and-drop installation.
I would never claim that Mac is for everyone, but if you're not a wiz and don't care for the technical details but just want it to work, Mac is the way forward.
If you prefer iOS over Android then you will love OS X as well...
As for the gaming comment, gaming is very possible on high end Macs... as long as you install Windows...!

In that case, I might as well use my iPhone to go on Facebook and request to be friends with Doyle and his zombie mates.
Start as I mean to go along and all that.

I was (had a HTC Wildfire) but I became an iPhone user as it does things a lot better than my old phone such as not running out of battery after 4 hours even after a full charge and apps not crashing all the time.
