I would like to build a custom shed/summer house combo.
Will be a corner piece, with two longer sides which will be a shed, and then the corner piece big enough for eventually a hot tub. like this:
Where im stuck is, whats the best way to go about drawing up what i need to buy etc. I need to work out how much its gonna cost before i go ahead with it.
Any pointers?

Concrete base will be expensive.
I'd build it like you would an internal wall an a house out of 3x2" scant.
Couldn't advise on roof though as its an 'L' but 3x2 againc cover in ply and shed roof felting.
Would cover walls in some sort of rough sawn 6x1 etc

Upright spacing would be 400mm or 600mm centres. I'd go for 600 as it's cheaper. 400 would be overkill for a shed.
That'll give you an idea on quantitis.
Stick some sizes on that drawing and I'll work out materials

If i give you a rough idea, the two back bits of the L will be 5m each. Maybe 4.5m if it works out alot cheaper due to wastage etc.
Ends will be 2.5m
Does that help? or you need more? Whats the best height?
Also, can you knock summit up for a 6.5m x 3m shed with 2 sets of double doors and 1 single along the front.

Draw out how you'll building it to scale on paper, that'll tell you what materials you need AND how you'll put it together.
Will help clarify in your mind how it'll work as you draw it.

I'll have a look tomorrow when I can be bothered and work out material needs etc.
However you build it the centres measurements I gave you are very important. Builders/joiners work buy those so ply sheets, plasterboard sheets etc are made to fit those.
Flat roof may be an option. Will be cheaper and easier. A hell of a lot easier.
You'll also need some sort of damp proofing under the outer Walls, to make it 100% waterproof.
Anyway, will fuigure something out tomorrow.

Flat roof would look shit on something like this.
Single skin of blockwork should do but you may well need peirs at various intervals. Roughcast finish should do.
You should put on a pitched roof and keep it open from the underneath that way you can store things along the truss cords.
Probably want windows around it as well which would be good if you want to use it as a summer house rather than a shed.

i would make a framework out of 3 x 2, and clad it in something like shiplap if you want it to look good, or featheredge if you want to do it cheaper and will look more like a shed, shiplap will make it look nicer and more like a summerhouse

£8k for concrete! Jake where you getting it from?!
Could put concrete base in yourself,make a timber stud frame out of CLS and then clad it, external ply the insides.
Flat roof would be cheapest.
Have a look at prices for similar sized sheds online for rough ideas.
Cheaper if your willing to put in the work.
We built ours from CLS, external ply, then covered with mesh and plastered, then dashed.
Just on a home mixed concrete base, still standing strong 10-15yrs on!

concrete budget around £100 a m³ plus your excvation and shuttering, also need to take in allowance if it needs to be pumped.

I'd do what Daniel said pour concrete yourself and build it from a timber stud. It is a shed after all lets not get carried away here.

i can draw it in 3D, its what i do for a job, i draw a frame a machine cuts it all from my 3D model.
a v.quick effort here, a bit of a guess as i can't tell what roof pitch you intend and some of the wall lengths etc.
probably easier to see what space you have to fit it in and work it from there. My software will also quantify all the materials too.

not sure tbh, every job varies, some we do the planning and building regulations, this one came to me with someone else doing planning and building regs, we are designing the frame and erecting it on site, the client is getting his own people to do insulation and plasterboard etc.
some jobs we buy the land, build everything then sell as a finished house. I don't get the quotes anymore so don't really know what people are paying. We also pre build all the walls in the workshop here so the job go up quickly on site as everything is worked out and already solved before they start
