Well guys this is my redtop engine. as you can see it looks hideous! Anyone have any ideas or pointers to change or to make it look better?

First thing I'd do is tidy up the wiring. Looks shocking around the battery, with wires going across the top of the firewall etc.

Well you've got two power cables going behind/over the firewall - where do they go? Could they not pass through a grommet?

there is a lot of wires going on there!!
remove that pas bottle bracket and the pipe thats there connected to nothing, assume thats the overflow pipe to the bottle for the pas? then just pick a section of wires, or hose and see what you can do with it. took me ages to sort the engine bay and engine loom on my car, although i did it when the engine was out.

another minor thing, but the pipe that is the breather from the inlet manifold to the header tank, it runs over the top of the inlet in your pic, should be able to remove it and run it under the inlet manifold. less things running over other things the neater it looks.

Just go Out and start cleaning and moving wires tucking them. It'll soon make sense.
Look another people's bays for ideas, plenty on here.
