What's the point in having damage but not until level 40 that's just bollocks and Paul I had all aids off bar manual gears I was in a zonda r on le sarthe pretty easy circuit but i just couldn't get it to go round corners without mental understeer now in real life that car would not suffer from that much understeer the physics are just not perfect and for a game that took so long to come out inthink they could of just so much more

you say the car wouldnt show effects of understeer, well its subject to how fast you was traveling.
the sence of speed n this game is pretty good i think, 150mph looks like 150mph with how fast the trees are going past.
if you try go online that is the level of damage that will be on A & B Spec, one tiny bump and you do knock your bumper off.
forza 3's visual damage isnt all that good anyway, yea you have bumpers coming off etc but its not dynamic damage. the mechanical damage is better tho as GT5 doesnt have it yet.
here is an example of good damage

I think i have just come across something rather interesting.
a couple of times when i have been on the ring in a quick car and spmetimes the car sorta sorts itself out (no aids apart from abs1) in 170mph bends which in the back of my mind ive thought was a little shit.. but after doing the nascar challenges ive noticed that ABS on 1 kinda adds on a stability management that you cant turn off in the game options.. only when you disable ABS does it dissapear.
now after playing the TT Demo and now GT5 ive quietly been a bit dissapointed in the difficulty of GT5, i havent tested this definitivly as it might not do sod all..
but i think having ABS disabled would create a much more reaslic driving experience as without ABS on you can and will lock your brakes if you are too hard on them, atm i just come to a corner and slam on and it stops without much fuss..
i will try this out after charlotte has finished making me watch x factor..

Hmm... well, Zonda R is not a great choice imo - especially on a pad... I'm surprised you could keep it in a straight line with no aids on. If you had sports tyres on it would've wanted to spin out all the time, and with race tyres on it would've probably understeered and then snapped oversteered.
You should've tried a more normal car like an elise on sports tyres.
Although if you're comparing the handling to Forza, the race cars in forza have the worst handling in any game I've ever played... the grip levels are rediculous.

I got really pissed off with the understeer in this game tbh, BUT it wasnt untill i went into the same corner over and over whilst monitoring my speed, i then realised "ok i am trying to enter a 90degree bend at 80mph, its just a case of getting used to the entering speed. IMO its difficult to judge the speed if you have been thrashing along at 200mph similar to real life driving when you come off a duel carriageway and enter a 30 it seems like you're at walking pace.

i suggest everyone goes and turns ABS OFF when racing.. makes it much much much better..
you actually lock your brakes quite easy if you dont alter your brake bias' to softer and gives a sence of 'oh shit im going too fast to stop'
thumbs up from me

Prefered Forza to this, abit shit that you can't change wheels on all cars etc.
Would probably be better if I had a wheel... may look into an alternative to the G25 as £150 is abit too much..

for customisation GT has never been as good as forza, but in my eyes gt isnt about changing the wheels or painting your cars with decals etc, its about racing and setting up your car to have the edge.

I just went to overhaul the engine on my Mazda Furai and it wanted $450,000
I think for that price i will let it do another 499 miles and get my moneys worth.
It is a cracking car though, anyone else got one?
