We need something with lots of corners in these elises.
We did Autumn Hill the other day in them and that was great.

Autumn ring?
Yea thats the kind of track we need, something small with lots of corners, Monza is pointless, you dont see anybody after the first corner.
I like tsukuba circuit (or whatever the first one we were on is called) always lots of overtaking.

Yeah I quite like Autumn Ring Mini, you can blast it round and it's always close racing
Tskuba is good too, fairly short and nice and twisty. I hate the last corner though

problem with the long tracks like monza is the straights with that stupid slip stream effect.
at least with lots of corners you cant slipstream as easy.

Yeah, that's a good point too.
Only problem with the short, twisty tracks is that inevitably most people seem to either late brake or spin off on the first lap, so it's never as close as it could be.
A bit like when we were on Cape Ring Inside the other day, virtually everyone went off on the first corner but I took it easy which made me go straight from 4th to 1st

Yeah I think everyone gets a bit excited on the first corner so only half make it round without flying off onto the grass

are we going to do this hour long race tomorrow night?
and what cars are we going to do it in?
i was actually thinking something that everyone can use or something cheap for everyone to buy.
i have no issues using the NSX, but its just what the majority wants to do.
my prefered cars would be one of the following
Tuned MX5 (without turbos, quite cheap and great fun)
Elise 111r (any mod other than power and weight)
NSX RM (just about everyone seems to have these now)
Elise 111r (standard from the reccomended)
slower the car, easier the racing, more chance of being closer together. Over an hours race the pack can get quite opened up.. but with the damage on heavy having to pit will come into it, and will make it much more exciting..
hopefully we can get a good number of people in tho

i would be interested in this chris, not too sure how i'd fair on a pad for an hour though lol
as for which car, i have no real preference, i currently own a mx5 tuned but with out turbo an that is a fun lil car, i've also got the elise RM & nsx RM. It will be interesting with the damage and needing to pit too.
Oh as for the track do you have anything in mind? needs to be interesting, cant stand tsukuba etc after a few laps its a very basic track

yea, the track i was thinking of was Indy Road Course (the Gt Academy track)
it does have 2 long straights, well 1 1/2 lol but the rest is pretty good, there are a couple of corners that are a challenge to perfect but the others are pretty easy.
it is a good track

I think for the first one using the MX5 would be quite good as it's a nice car to drive and not stupidly fast so hopefully everyone should ease into it better. Plus with it being fairly cheap to buy and tune, everyone should be able to get one.
I'm guessing we'd be using a max of sports soft? Same old argument really, sports would obviously make it more interesting.
One other thing, i think that 15 mins beforehand should be enough. I'm not sure if i could handle an hour and a half on one race, an hour and a quarter would probably be pushing it but it would make it easier

the race would be about an hour in length, i would have to work out how many laps that would be.
but we need some time for qualifying.. unless you would rather have 15 mins qual and 45 mins race?
tyres, yes.. sports : soft, on a car like the mx5 its relativly slow in reality so i cant imagine it being that bad.
id rather not use racing softs as i might aswell go play my scalectrix instead.

Ryan - It's quite a good one, the hairpin chicane bit is tricky to master though. Corner 9 on that picture.

Naa, shouldnt need them if everyone drives fair..
I find that if penalties are on and you get knocked off not only are you off the track but you get 10 seconds with reduced power as an extra kick in the balls..
