i get 230 to £35 in my 1.4 16v sport, i've got a powertec 8" indution kit which i think is the problem!

have you checked the pipe going to your map sensor... or the map sensor itself.. Mind you if that was faulty your car would be runnin in safe mode...

A little bit of black soot is OK if the car has been mapped for peak power. But on standard (ie low emissions) map, the exhaust deposit should be more of a dark grey (powdery)
