Not really cheap ?

The places you are looking at for £450 would be over £800 here easily.

Well the lease has to renewed every 6 months. Possibly to extend to a year. I would prefer to rent from a big company rather than a private landlord because at the end of the day the landlord may want to rent to somebody else. With a big company thats less likley to happen unless your a real bad tenant,

correct and good to have every 6 months.
mine is every 6 months but you have to pay a renewel charge every 6 months for a new contract to be drawn up.
ours is through a big rent company, never even seen landlord.
he owns 3 as well in our block.

I think you have to pay a renewal charge because its through an agency, pretty standard..lol thats how they make there money. Advantage of through a rental company is if anything went wrong repair wise it would probably get done quicker and easier rather than having to approach a landlord.

i bought a 3 bed flat above comercial premises from auction for 118k refurbed it now valued around 150-160k - madness

anyway, would say buy if u can but renting is not bad at the mo as quite a lot of over supply in this area not sure bout everywhere else
