its that black 360 with hdmi and and 1080p output, i understand it was to use both base consoles but both the 360 and ps3 base models offer the same performance as the more expensive versions.
not trying to cause an arguement just seems like it would be a fairer comparison

the elite with the 1080p output will match or even look better than the ps3

Tim, GT HD won't actually be released, they've scrapped it to concentrate on GT5, or so i hear
the Bravia is arriving in the next few days hopefully, sadly not a 40" though

should have gone for the 40...but you won't be dissapointed with any other Bravia. Don't forget to post your experience here

personal taste and facts are different....
you have to accept facts whatever your taste
Still not worth £425+ though IMO
I repeat IMO

You seen how much those Blu Ray films are? I'd rather use my USA Marketplace membership on my 360 ( )and rent them for £3 in HD.

Couple of pounds premium on most I've seen online? i.e. Casino Royale is £15 rather than £13 something on Amazon.
Anyway lets not turn this thread into another argument. It's becoming comparable to Corsa vs Saxo!

I'm not arguing, you'll see the only reason i've given against me getting or wanting a PS3 is the bloody price!
The Blu Ray films in GAME were £25, same as HD DVD Films.
p.s. I drive an Ibiza Cupra, better than a Saxo or Corsa

i would very much have liked a 40" tv abdus but theres the whole price issue and the space it would take up in my room, my room isn't big at all. i'm going for the 32" as i've found them fairly cheap, i will get back to you though

Yeah the price is off-putting as you have no 'basic' version, but as previously discussed it's not all that different from other ways of achieving an HD-disc (Blu-ray or HD-DVD) capable console. Or any standalone player for that matter...
I see it as a good thing though (especially with Sony dropping the 20Gb version now). Games developers can guarantee everyone is using exactly the same hardware...

how do you mean? the hardware on all 360 consoles is the same bar the hardisk size which doesnt affect how the programmers make games anyway?

BUT, I already have a 360 and as i'm not a big DVD/Blue Ray/HD DVD buff that stuff doesnt bother me. Thats my only main reason for not wanting one. It'd be different if I didn't have a 360 already. The games, after all its all I want it for, are good enough on the 360.

Unless the rumoured cable comes out for the normal Xbox's.
TBH i've no complaints about 720p. Rainbow Six and Tiger Woods still look amazing.

but the highest resolution of both Blu-ray and HD DVD requires HDMI and the 360 doesn't have HDMI otput

nah, because microsoft still sell the core version (with no harddrive). developers have to create there 360 games under the impression that the user doesn't have that. so they can't use the hard drive for things like unlimited save data and improved load times. so they can't use the harddrive to help with the performance.
and also there limited to dvd9 (dual layer dvd) space. so they have to compress audio, textures, polygon models etc. Still at around 9gb theres enough space for the time being, but within the years delevopers will need more room to fit these bigger levels and more detailed models, xbox's dvd9 is limited. Were as the ps3's harddrive and 50gb blueray can hold so much more for future content. meaning for example, bigger and more detailed textures = better looking games. and when they start delevoping games that steam textures, audio etc.. (gears of war) for the ps3, its going to be interesting.

tbh they will just program the games to take advantage of the harddrive if its ther, not just leave out any use entirely. Also if we did feel the 20gb didnt hold enough, easy enough to fit the 120gb out the elite

9GB will easy outlast the lifespan of both consoles until each console is replaced
And if streaming content is your thing, just look at the memory bus the ps3 has, 1/3rd of the bandwidth of the 360
