I think the black 360s are the developers ones, they also have a HDD which i believe is networked so the new versions of the game can be instantly updated and played, so no need for burning to disc.
But anyway, it looks and that is the tv ive been looking at. mmmm nice

What TV is that, finally decided top bite the bullet and get a nice HD LCD and that looks as though it would fit the bill nicely

all 360's can do 1080p, we just dont have a cable/tv combo that can output it yet. I think MS will release a 1080p cable when demand increases

Mainly due to the fact that they new need hardware to do the convertions (HDMI is cheaper obviously) and AACS (Blue-Ray/HD-DVD) won't allow 1080p over component connections.
But it is possible to fire 1080p60 over component and VGA (thats as far as they will go due to bandwidth limitations) and i believe game makers don't have to follow with the film studios so you should be able to play 1080p over compoment and VGA.
However, the 360's HD-DVD drive will only output 1080p over VGA, while component is limited to 1080i (read first link below).
