Yes, most Apple products are indeed so straight forward that even retards will know how to use them.

My big sister has managed to completely set up two computers, install a wireless network with NAS storage, remote backup and music streaming as well as share all her photos and music between both laptops.
Something I will guarantee you she would never have been capable of, had not all products been Apple.

I can not for the life of me see how this is a bad thing.

OK so far in this thread we have established:

- Apple products are for retards, and they "just work"

- PCs have viruses

- Macs are better than PCs but not according to people that don't like Apple products

Correct?

It's hard getting a balanced view on Apple products tbh. The force with the haters is strong.

For what it's worth my Dad has a Mac and loves it. He likes it for media and photo's. He went from PC to Mac and is now a convert.

Apple products just work unless you want to do any actual work on them when you realise they don't just work and you need to spend days looking on google to fix something that would have worked out the box in windows. (same applies for all apple products, they 'just work' at the 3 things apple think you should be doing with it)

They are massively overpriced but do look good.

PC's only have viruses if you are an idiot.

If you have more money than sense and want to spend 10 million pounds on an apple solution that would have cost 200 quid with windows equivalents then yes, apple are great.

I also looked at buying a mac recently, would be handy to know more about it for work.

I didn't though because it's so expensive even for a second hand one.

Apple are like a religious cult.

Do you just use it in the house for web browsing? I can see it would be good at that.

If you try to use one in an office environment it doesn't work as soon as you need to communicate with anyone else in the world except graphic designers.

If you stick to the speed limit a two hour drive is still a two hour drive whether you do it in a Toyota Aygo or a BMW 7-series. One is just a hell of a lot more enjoyable.

That said, for a lot of people it just makes better sense to go for the Aygo.

If you don't want a Mac it's probably not the right choice for you so... don't by a Mac!
If someone tells you one is definitively better than the other, they don't have a clue and should stfu.
If you don't have a clue what you're talking about, stfu... John!
If you do by a Mac, be prepared to defend that decision every single day, which is easily the best reason to steer the other way.

This.

One of the biggest downfalls for Macs was that it used to be more difficult to get hold of the unlicenced software from torrent sites, but over the last few years its became more widely available.

The wife has a mac and I have a PC.
I prefer the look/feel of the PC (probably because thats what im used to, its easier to navigate for me), but I prefer the functionality of the MAC.

For the mac, drag/drop installing programs is fantastic, no AV needed, no 'genuine validation' crap with OSX, not even any serial numbers (and infact the next OSX update will be available as a download).

Its swings and round abouts for me.

Don't have a clue what I'm talking about

I can categorically say that unless you have a very specific need for a mac a PC is better for work every time.

Apple will have genuine validation and serials if they ever get on as many computers as windows is.

Updates, windows gives you all updates as a download apart from when it's a whole new OS, do Apple give you a whole new OS for free?
