in a hotlap or sprint race id go for a set like pauls, but one thats slightly more progressive, i find pauls set (even tho based round the standard set) to turn in ok but then to all of a sudden snap into oversteer, ive played with the brakes and thats seems to control that a bit.
i was getting frustrated last night when testing as nothing i did changed how the car felt and the best set was default.
the lsd i used was the standard one, i dont use the tuned one.

Might practise tonight. The MX5s are great fun, pointless changing the car imo

Well ive never raced this track before. Just had about 8 practise laps before i get ready for work.
Started off at about 1.55s, got it down to a couple of low 1.43s, thats with terrible driving in places, so im confident i can knock a good 1-2seconds off at least.

Agreed Chris.
Pauls set up is more to my suit of driving, it turns in lovely and you can get a little bit of the rear out with a bit of throttle.
Ive tweaked it slighty from what he posted up and now have the back almost in check.

Can someone just confirm for me that you can actually change your brlaes/brake set up on it? Just that my mate got it last night on Level 7 and wanted to change the brakes on his Lotus, but couldn't find the option.

I will probably have a complete different setup for Laguna Seca - that setup was for grand valley east reverse.

Try your setting on Seca first matey.
Has real nice turn in but is a bit tail happy for the off camber corners.

I think it's going to be a case of preserving tyres - seca is generally quite an oversteery track in places.
Seca isn't a particularly fast track - quite a lot of bends and ideal for the mx5... it'll all be about being smooth and not going sideways.

Cheers mate Yeah it's quite easy to get the back out on the second part of he first corner if you give it too much power. Well it was with my setup for the last track anyway

Great track choice Dave, suits the MX5 perfectly, I was quite surprised how planted it was through the corkscrew, my back end never stepped out there and I was full throttle!
I also planted it at the bottom of the corkscrew and it didn't step out once I even tried to one time and it still didn't let go Should be a good race I hope

There is no brake upgrade (unless you race modify the car) but you can alter the brake balance in the car's settings.

there are too many factors to just have an 'optimum setting'. There are some basic things you can change which will never hurt (or shouldnt) but you have to look a the layout of the car;
FR, FF, MR, FA.. etc (FR = Front engined Rwd or MR = Mid engined Rwd or FA = Front engined Awd)
Camber / Toe / Ride Height and Springs are the main 4 things you can mess about with to start out.
go learn what they all do before changing them, i think it tells you in the game but there will be more indepth info on the net.
