I'm struggling to complete 2 laps of the 1st track with decent pace, I've watched the ghost replay and i am finding it near on impossible to replicate some of the cornering speeds he achieves

I can't do European and Japanese Classic events because there are no suitable pre owned cars.

1940's Citroen 2CV

Got a 1967 Corvette for the Classic American races.

Before the corrupt game issue I had a 1970's Skyline and E-Type Jaguar

Yeah, not much luck so far. won a Mugan Civic, 1950's Subaru, Yaris and another Civic.

Just bought a 1978 280Z for the Jap race, need an E-Type

Edit - Don't need the E-Type, the Alpine I bought is a weapon!

Beginner Class completed (again!) Pretty much back to where I was now.

I wish it was like older GT's where each dealership had loads of pre owned cars, instead of this general dealship which has next to feck all

Yea there were much more Used cars available to you when each dealership had it's own used car lot.

I just started the 172 lap race around Suzuka in my Zonda R, and after 15 laps the projected length of race will be 7.1 hours guess i better go stock up on snacks before i carry on...

I'm dreading doing them. The 60 lap Grand Valley from GT was bad enough.

This is much worse I'm hoping you can use your B-spec drivers in the A-spec race when you get to the 24 hour Le Mans & Nurburgring races or i haven't got a clue how i am going to manage them otherwise

FYI anyone wanting to do the Lambo seasonal events - Don't bother with a Gallardo Modded mine a bit (full suspension etc) and can't get it to handle well. Had to play with the diff a lot to try and make it not squirm under braking Murcielago is faaar better

It has the aero parts on now courtesy of Matt L when I let him borrow it

Think I might have turned them down a bit though to combat the understeer so that might explain it a bit.

Either way, I got the Murcielago SV, threw exhaust, suspension, transmission, drivetrain and ECU upgrade at it, put some basic settings in the suspension and it was perfect. Might take some tweaking on different tracks but it handles amazingly well like this.

Would post the settings if I could remember them

There was a fairly good and simple guide posted in this thread, but it's obviously rather tricky to find what with it being about 1 million pages long

Some basic bits are:
Lowering the front more than the back will induce turn-in
For any options in the left hand pane (can't remember the title of it) a higher number is stiffer. So 4kg/fm springs are soft, 20kg/fm springs are rather stiff

You will want to add some camber to aid grip round corners, so that you get more of a contact patch on the tyre. Too much and you'll reduce grip as you will lessen the contact patch.
With front toe, if you lessen it then you will get better turn-in and vice versa.
Rear toe affects the turning ability after the initial turn in so you need to lower this if your car is turning in but then understeering as you go round the corner.

It would be a good idea to give everything a bit of trial and error to see how you like it set up, and I should think there are better, fuller guides on the internet as I'm quite tired so that's not all that detailed

i completed to 92% and sold it. got sick of it. endurance races can GTF. im not wasting my time doing that sh1t, besides it will be well easy to win.

so in my eyes, i easily completed the whole of GT5 in 3 months. and thats not even gluing myself to the ps3 either.

as a result of GT5 being sold, my PS3 has also been sold. as thats the only reason i bought it. job done.

If you can Afford the F1 car do it, they are loads of fun, I only have the Formula Gran Turismo F1 car right now but it is immense fun.

The Zonda R is an immense car also though, as is the Mazda Furai.

I'm struggling to think of what to buy next though myself, might just buy a Ferrari F1 '07 next

Sounds like you need an XBox 360 and a copy of Forza 4 - The real driving simulator for next generation consoles. The games where cars actually look like they are being driven on the track and not floasting across the screen. The game that comes with unrivaled fully supported online play for you and your anal chums.
