Russia the leaked chassis is same as 4. If it's misinformation then FairPlay. But I highly doubt they will change it. As for guess work that's all anyone can say tbh as only Apple peeps will know, oh and Bubble

I didn't like the 4 when it came out. But my cousin got one earlier this year and it does make my 3GS look quite dated when you put them along side one another

I disagree, they will need to improve tge camera to stay in line with current competition, and they're more than likely give it the new processor.

Getting confusing up in here.
I thought Russ was reffering to the fact that Apple will release an 8gb 4S that will be an iPhone 4 with an A5 processor etc AND a separate completely redesigned iPhone that will come in the usual 16/32gb variants. I was saying this won't happen.
They will simply release a 4S which will be the same as the current iP4 with A5 Processor, more RAM, 8mp Camera and slightly redesigned mid-frame(antenna) in 16/32gb.
MAYBE also a cheaper 8gb version of the current iPhone 4 (but unlikely as they will just make the current 16/32gb versions cheaper).

They are making the 8gb 4. It's already been manafactured.
They make an 8gb 3GS that is currently sold alongside the 4. It's just the cheaper/older model.

What like they wouldn't make an new 8GB 3GS and a new 4 last summer...oh no they did didn't they. No reason why they can't do the same again. Dropping the storage down is easy and saves them money and opens up a different market to them

I reckon this new chassis is just a slight redesign for the ip4 which is slightly cheaper. Can only hope anyway!

You didn't read what I put 
I said they won't do an 8gb 4S (i.e a faster iphone 4) and a redesigned iPhone 5, which is what I thought Russ was implying earlier in the thread.
I imagine they will do an 8gb version of the current iPhone 4 and release a 4S in 16/32gb (possibly 64gb), that will use the existing design with some slight modifications.

whatever they do it will have to be special. However as the rumours of it being cheaper than a 4 at release and very little info on it i can see it just being a facelifted 4 with a better camera and the new a5 running gear and new OS. the normal 4 will drop in price and sell along side it.
Apple should start being a bit more revolutionary imo, bar the screen on the 4 its a 'good phone' but every other phone out there can do what the iphone can and if some one like nokia made the iphone i dont think it would be a contender as a market leader.
I also think Apple missed a trick not releasing it in July as all those on 24 month contracts (marjority of UK contract holders i should think) are all stuck as to what to do

they may as well just give up tbf.
Apple could shit in a white box with a logo on and it'd sell millions. They won't give a toss about the quality of the phone. Remember the last one that couldnt make calls...that didn't affect they're stock in the slightest, everyone still bought it!

Thats because it could make calls and the internetz blew antennagate out of proportion in an attempt to ruin Apples image.
Agreed about needing to raise the bar though, if its just a faster iPhone 4 it will be able to compete with the likes of today's phones but not the phones in 18 months time like the iPhone 4 has.

To the majority of buyers it doesn't have to be better though, it just has to be somewhere near and do what everyone expects it to do. I think it's funny when armchair experts are saying it has to do this and that whilst Apple are sitting on a pile of cash that would make a middle eastern sheikh jealous.
Only the techies will compare stats when choosing a new phone.
