I'm android as of today  So much better than Symbian, but that should go without saying. Have used other people's iPhones before and really don't see what all the fuss is about. Give me a menu over screen after screen of icons any day.

Android as a whole is open source, it would go against the whole concept if they ever changed that.

In terms of performance get the Galaxy S2, but if you want the nice touches and tweaks get the HTC Sensation 
HTC Sense = full of win
Also never been a fan of only having the use of one button (outside of the icons) to navigate on the Jesus Phone?
