Lookin at the pics..if you drill the holes you have to use a de-burring tool which basicaly is a sort of c shaped chisel which takes the rough edges and swarf off. Apart from making the holes flow a bit more it reduces whistling noises.

the tool (about 2 quid from wickes) gets the edges slightly sloped s**T hot finish to a bit of diy, but yeah sandaper will do,

so basicly, the holes that u drill have to slanted not just straight?
