The CPU might be working hard yes, but the fans still dont speed up. No more air comes out the back of my 360 if im on the dashboard or if i playing games, so clearly the fans dont spin any faster. The noise is 100% the DVD drive.

go any solid proof of them using the 65nm? Microsoft hasn't stated that they'll be using the 65nm chips, so far everything points to the Elite using the same gear as the current xbox, just bigger HD and HDMI port

its simple logic that if the cpu is working harder (i.e. in game) it gets hotter. So the fans speed up to compensate for that.

I don't really care if the drive is noisy or not on either.

Imagine if this was about the ps3 though, and somebody with a ps3 said 'but you just have to buy this extra bit to make the console function like it should originally', steve and topshot would explode.

you dont have to buy anything you clown. i use an intercooler as my xbox is surrounded by other heat sources and for £7 i dont give a shit.

FFS john give it a rest and just buy one or the other.
