Not quite sure why you'd want to make it look like iOS?
iOS works lovely.
Hardware is 6months behind.
What hardware?

Is Siri only on 4S not part of iOS5?
At the moment it appears 4s exclusive. To the point the app, which was previously downloadable has been removed from the Apple store
I saw it mentioned earlier that you need the 4S for Siri to work.

No one is forcing you to upgrade... Admittedly if I had a 4 I probably wouldn't be in any rush to get a 4S but isn't the 4 -> 4s a bigger upgrade with more features than the 3G -> 3Gs?
I'm still on a 3Gs that's in a bad way, awful battery life, slow as fuck and so on so I'm gagging for an upgrade. The 4s is gunna feel like a whole different league compared to what I'm used to.
I'm looking forward to 1080p video and the faster/better camera, being able to take shots pushing a button and so on.
I'm really looking forward to it...

6 month old Samsung is still beating it for spec and near enough every app Apple do like facetime etc there's a 100 of those apps on android. Can't see what it offers, think even the die hards will be wondering what they get for their money. I will stick saith htc for my upgrade next year

IOS is where it beats it hands down.
So its all depending on whether you want a faster phone with IOS or happy to stay with your current phone on IOS.

I've sold mine on o2 recycle for £270, so a new 4S will cost me ~£230 sim free, the price of a normal upgrade.
Im happy to pay that.

5 year old iPhone 2G is still beating Samsung for user experience.
Spec on a phone means nearly fuck all if the software is a mess.
Fair enough that some prefer Android, but don't close your eyes to the fact, that the overall experience of an iPhone is, if not necessarily better for everyone, then vastly different.

Of course it'll be different? That goes without saying.
Disagree with the 2G being better than the Samsung though, that's laughable Naturally you'll get people who hate the iPhone, or love it. I'm neither. But I preferred my HTC Desire and Android 2.2 to my iPhone 4. Even though it's jailbroken.

And this is what all the spec chasers will never realise. I would rather have a good performing phone that is as slick as you like than a speed demon that is a sod to use.

Have you actually used a decent android phone? My Desire was brilliant to use.

its the hardware if anything that i would have been envious of, but even that is starting to lose its appeal after this latest news.

...But the decision is do i go contract for 18 months or even 12 (if they offer it) or do i buy outright? would need a 32gb
...and do i buy one to sell
Im in the same boat too.
I want a 32gb (would love the 64gb) im definitely not doing 24 months, as i know the 5 will be out between 12-18 months knowing apple!
I would buy outright if i could tbh, but simply cant afford it for £500

ive just rung o2 for some info and they cant really offer much to be honest
i know the handset only had its first public outing yesterday but you think people in the know at a provider would have set up everything ready to go for after an announcement

I've got a 3GS at the mo so will be a big upgrade for me TBH I still like my 3GS, had it 2 years and it's been faultless. I'll be keeping the 4S for 2 years too. I'm not enough of a geek to be needing to change my phone more often than that.
