Steve made his mind up about this game from a YouTube video during it's development.

these petty little GT5 vs forza arguments make me laugh! who actaully gives a fuck what one is better!
i've not had a good chance to play gt5 for any length of time but i am really enjoying it at the moment. overall am very happy with the purchase regardless of the little downfalls.

heh ... The Amg Challenge final part is a full lap of the real nurburgring (nordschleife) trying to set a 8 min 49 lap on a tourist day...
The same feeling of frustration / manic overtaking happens in the game as real life e.g. coming off line to quickly nip past before a flat out section

Just off to buy a mic...
that was only the beginner amg challenge ... I've just seen there's another 4 or 5 levels ... and you need at least the intermediate level to unlock the track for normal use...
Bollocks.

It's brilliant mate, would be better if i had a HD TV & steering wheel though
Wouldn't be as bad if the throttle was one of the rear triggers like on NFS though i feel.
Also the kart's are loads fun to drive.
you can change the buttons on the options page mate!
Never thought of that! Will be doing that tonight then as the shoulder buttons are waaaaay better to use than sticks.

Back to seriousness though and talking about GT...
I'm disapointed by the tuning parts you can buy for your car. In Forza 3 you could really have fun building an interesting car - with a million combinations of parts and paint jobs etc.
In GT5 its pretty dull you just bolt on the next in line of parts like 'Engine tuning stage 1' ... 'engine tuning stage 2'.
and the wheel choice is limited and can't be increased or decreased in size.
Also you can't SLAM the car like in forza 3 ... 25 mm drop max
I do like how in Forza (only heard this through people, never played it myself) you can change the actual engine too. That would have been a really good addition to GT tbh.
