I don't really understand your logic here. A bigger braking set up WILL stop a car faster

no thats where you are wrong..

if you can lock your wheels up using standard tyres then you have sufficent braking capabilities..

There's not a chance in a million years that you can buy bigger brakes and they don't make any difference, no matter what happens in real life.

I knew exactly what you were going to say about brakes, in the game though, if you can buy bigger brakes they will 110% have an effect, even if it's not what would happen on a real car.

bigger brakes will slow you down form a high speed quicker, you wont be able to lock your wheels up at 100 on standard small brakes

if you just put bigger discs on a standard car it would make no difference, the pad its still only so big and still only contacting with the same amount of disc.

the only thing you would probably notice is that the brake pedal would take slightly longer to fade.

so what your saying then is its the size of the surface area touching the brake disc is what helps slow you down not the size of the disk. obviously the disc has to be big enough for the calipers.

Gran Turismo is real life mate. If you can drive fast on it you are actually a real racing driver. Its how the F1 teams find the new stars.
