Had an amusing conversation with a women at work this morning. She wants the new iPhone so I showed her that spreadsheet with all the contracts on it. She needs 100 mins & unlimited texts she reckons so thats £31 a month. Then when I said it'll be £170 for the phone then she said no I want it free. And she was quite happy to go up to the £46 a month contract with 900 minutes that she'll never use just to get the phone free I did explain that'll cost her more in the long run but she has taken the afternoon off work to go and try to get one anyway Fucking women
Oh yeah and her contract isn't up for another 3 months either so she is just going to start another one
[Edited on 14-10-2011 by mwg]
maybe she cant afford the outright fee

But she can afford to pay £46 a month for the next 3 months on her existing contract that she will still have alongside her new one. And she could sell her iPhone 3G too to get some money.

Mines up and running, sort of! Lol
Anyone know why when I use Siri it keeps firing back
"sorry, I can only look for businesses in united states"
Be useful if I was actually there!

Obvious error message but i would hazard a guess that business places feature is limited to the US

Does anybody know anywhere that I can buy an iPhone 4S sim free other than direct from Apple? I get quite a lot of discounts through work, unfortunately my Apple discount doesn't cover iPhones.

Not much by the looks of it.
I'll be putting them up for £650 to see if people go for it after they've realised they can't get one over the weekend, if not I'll do something else with them.
If it goes for £650 on ebay that's only about £100 quid.

even if you can find them, they wont apply discoutns to apple products as they are contractually obligied to sell for the price dictated by apple

Balls
I'm so tempted to do the GiffGaff thing, but it's such a massive upfront cost. Unless I go for 16GB which makes it fractionally more appealing.

Tesco contracts work out only fractionally more over the contract period than buying the phone and getting a giffgaff sim (i think).

Yeh that's my 2nd best options. The thing to consider is the with O2 I get £5 a month off my broadband if I have my mobile with them.
It's not a lot but when you factor it in, it makes the O2 and Tesco contracts pretty similar.

Any less than that and it isn't worth the potential hassle you can end up with.

I wouldn't have much time this weekend even if I opened one of mine so it's going a 3 day BIN when I get home, if it doesn't sell it doesn't sell.
If it was me looking I'd wait until Sunday night to buy.
Won't get posted until Monday anyway so might as well exhaust all other avenues first.
