My engine is stained in oil and the whole thing is a bit manky.
How do i get it off?
Also can u buy coloured rocker covers for the 1.6 sport?

Can you not just give it a good sweep with jet washer?
OBVIOUSLY DO NOT if you have a open air filter
before anyone tries this then says its my fault

water damage

its not as harsh as pure water though, the steam is already at a high temperature so will evaporate shortly after coming in contact with engine (is why its a good cleaning method)
water will just build up

dependin where ya go can vary from a fiver to about £20
if ya take it for a service though to some places & ask nicely they'll do it for free

depends on the age of the engine, i had my old clio done an had loads of misfiring problems afterwards. Get out the degreaser and do it that way much safer.

GUNK and old paintbrush, to loosen all the grease, then down to the local valeters for a steam clean. will come up spotless.

hard work m8!
get car polish for bodycoloured bits (underbonnet, in around wings etc)
whatever u use 2 keep ur plastics black for plastic bits... and any bits like rocker cover (if u can) i used wire wool... came up like this

Was about 2 use the degreaser and hit it with a quick spray of water after. It what the damn things says 2 do as well, lol

Degreaser and water is fine, but you gotta stay away from all the electrical bits ie alternator, alarm, lights. just use a paint brush and a squirty bottle, paint the degreaser on in small areas, and use the spray botle of water to remove the degreaser. then let the engine idle to evaporate all the left over water. also get some WD40 and spray that on the alternator to get rid of any water that may have got in.

1.6 sport?
i got a carrabic blue rocker cover.
easy to prep and paint another colour.
and i got a power coated inlet manifold.
i had a buyer lined up but he backed out.
its mint perfect and never fitted
then get a hose kit from samco and u got a mint engine

i pressure washed my engine on a 1.4 16v sport and it came up s[potless it took all the manky yellow stuff off and it was like new. i also left the engine runnin while i did it.

steam clean it
dantheman is correct in saying leave the engine running, solves alot of problems!!
if you have an induction kit then put a bag of it and tie it loosely otherwise your car wont run, and it'll try and suck the bag thru the filter!
then just steam wash the fuk out of it, obviously you dont pin point the jet at electrical connections etc
