Turns out everything is not all rosy in the garden as first thought, the speedo is working perfectly but there is like a whining noise coming from the clocks area it sounds like something turning and then it ghets louder the faster the car goes, if you then decrease speed by breaking it sounds like its ran out of batteries and just dies slowly until the car comes to a halt what the hell is it its onlyu since the new cable went in so its either the clocks end or the gearbox end or have I maybe put it in tight please help me out the hard bits now done

it may be the cable is not full inserted into the dials end

the sound yer hearing is the cable spinning(as its supposed to)

it could be a knackered speedo though...

if heard of this problem before dunno how it was fixed though,

not to sure about it... sounds like the speedo(dials) could be faulty but dont quote me on that.

you dont seem to be moaning at how hard it is to get the cable to snapp into the back of the speedo, this is a night mare job usually so it suggests you got way too much slack at the speedo end, just loosen the cable off on its route from engine bay to speedo if its bending sharply or stressed they play up

I will try that it was a bitch to get it into the dials but I will just have to see what I can do means getting the ramps out to have a look at its route might just take it out and reroute it its definately in the clocks correctly so if I take it out at the gearbox end and reroute it again hopefully that will be problem solved oh and another thing I am sure my miles are clocking up way too much I have just done at the most 5 mayube 6 miles and after I knocked it back to zero the clocks say I have done 13 miles which is immpossible really what could that be anyone ever heard of that hapening
