mileage on the engine you use should be irrelevant, rebuild the mo-fo before its anywhere near your car

I'd say provided the compression test on the engine show's the rings are in good condition, leave it alone, why waste money rebuilding it when it doesn't need it??
Only if your'e fitting TB's and revving the tit's off it on track all the time is there any point.
I've got a 20XE in the girlfriends astra that has now covered 151k, I had the head off due to h/g failure, and apart from carbon build up the bottom end was in perfect health.
However, new timing belt and water pump is a good start.

i started at 1500 quid like most peeps said it cost but u end up paying more anyways
my engine was 500 but got 100 back cos of cambelt
fitting kit 500 quid cos mine 16v/pas corsa
dan charged me about 480 labour
plus 300-400 quid in replacing parts i.e waterpump/cambelt ancilleries
170 for silicone hose kit
70 for quickshift from lmf
brakes 195 for v6 ones
400 quid for coilovers
so its best opart of 2k easy for full conversion, keep saving m8 i was in ur position too an got there

I have spent:
£400on fitting kit from Cossvaux. (inc 16v and pas mount)
£450 for all the service bits inc CV joints!
£350 for a Cav Sri with 89k on it. (should get this back when sell rest of car....)
£500 labour
£70 quickshift
£100 bits and bobs.
Already lowerd! So i am well ova the £800 i told me Mum and Dad!!!

Top tip buy a car rather than just the engine as a you can ere it! and b u get cost of engine back by stripping the car!

£400 For a Cav GSi
£200 for a Cossvaux fitting kit
£50 for am Ecotec pipe and adaoptor
£500+ on a re-build and new brake parts
I'm doing the work myself and welding up an exhaust for now. Looking at spending about £300 on getting a custom exhaust made up later on. Going for a 2" bore stainless steel job.
