all the k and n does is improve the way the air flows in, no power gains from it.

you are correct

although the more air = more fuel = more performance. this is the basic rule of increasing performance.

dont get an induction kit, as it will only make it worse. your set-up is the best one imo.

A panel filter will still have the problem of the factory airbox. Ditch it for a decent cone filter.

i wouldnt bother with one, save up for engine mods rather than something thats just going to make a rumble noise when ya hit the pedals and make little if any gains, get the engine sorted then ya can think about induction, unless youve done some engine work already?

You'll still get better throttle response with a cone filter sucking up all this "hot air" people are so scared of than with a factory airbox.

But that's like saying "I wouldn't bother with alloy wheels unless you've already lowered it and got a jap-style bodykit". If people went down that route, they'd never get round to modifying their cars.

A cone filter housed in your original airbox will actually be good comprimise.
Modify your air box to use it as a heat shield from the engine.
Also got some sorta of cold air feed.

my rolling road results were:

de-restricted airbox nwith k&n panel....................... 155 bhp

with pipercross cone filter.........................................151 bhp

both done on same day within 5 mins from eachother. this happened consistently, as i checked it again, and had the same results.

Rolling roads are bullshit. Everyone will agree, but everyone still uses them.
