i have 18" on my corsa 1.5td just wondering if it will affect the speed of my car (in respect of going faster than my speedo says)?
If so how do i correct this?

YOu can get your speedo re-calibrated but i cant think where off the top of my head.
You might just find that it now shows the correct speed if for instance it was underreading by like 10%
Or it may read slightly more. Ive had 17" wheels on mine for 4years, never had a problem.
Also is your rolling radius affected? as this is what will knock the speedo out?

There's a wheel/speedo calculator here:
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
Just type in your original tyre sizes that the car came with as standard and the tyre sizes on your 18's and it calculates everything for you. I've got 18's on mine as generally I think it's 10% (so if you're driving at 30mph on your speedo, your real speed is 33mph).
