Basically I set the gains settings to maximum on the component speakers.
Maximum = 0.2 most sensitive, Minimum = 8 less sensitive
I would have thought 0.2 would be the lowest gain, so you can see why i've made the mistake.
I've only run the the speakers like this for about 20minutes at low volume.
The speakers are still working. Could have i caused any damage at all?

maybe, adjust the gain then turn it up and see?

what speakers are they, if they are good and the gains are low you should be able to get away with it.

I'm running a set of 75w components of a 2 x 120rms amp and have had no problems so far as I have turned the gains on the amp down. I think its better for the amp as it means its not running at its maximum all the time...

Deepens whether your amp is 200RMS is a true wattage coz a lot of cheep amps are saying they are 200rms when they are not. It should say in the instructions 4 the amp whether it is a true 200RMS so if it is a cheep make u will get a way with it.
4 examples JBL do subs that say 1000watts when they are more like 700watts they get away with this by saying in small print not true wattage.

800wrms in total, i do believe it is true 200wrms per channel..
so basically.. its messed right?
the speakers play fine tho? can they still be messed up?

I have a Zeus amp witch has 4 ch and 420rms per channel Zeus make very good stuff but very hard 2 get hold of but that stats true wattage and the sound quality is brilliant I got sum mutant 6x9s 150RMS and had 2 of my channels at 120RMS and the 6x9 got totally destroyed I later looked at the small print and it stated not true wattage so I phoned the manufactures of the 6x9s and they would not tell me the true wattage of them and would not take responsibility 4 the speakers.
If your 6x9s are only slightly lower rated than the power u are giving them y should be ok just check your gain on the amp.
If the manufacture is going 2 hid sum think it will be in the small print u can bet on it.

lol, i'm pretty sure the infinitiy components are 90 'true' rms watts, and i'm pretty sure the phoenix gold amps push out 200 'true' rms watts..
I can't see either infinity or phoenix gold lying about their stats.
