when fitting one of these whats involved-
-do you have to remove the egr? if you do how and what else apart from the actual valve on the inlet do you have to remove or modify?
-can you just literally just remove the top half of the inlet on a x16xe and bolt this on without having to take any of the bottom inlet off?
-are there any hoses, connectors, wires or anything of that nature need modifying or blocking etc?
-if you do put this on will it bring up any fault codes or engine management light?
-if you remove the egr will that bring on the engine management light or any fault codes?
any help much appreciated or a link to all the answers, tried a search and couldnt find much.

1. If you fit one of these, the EGR valve is not used anymore. this is because the throttle body is moved from one side of the engine to the other.
2. It's not as easy as bolt on, there are wires to extend, hoses to move, holes to drill and vacum pipes to connect.
3. Nothing needs blocking, apart from a blanking plate over the EGR takeoff.
4. From what i have read, if the EGR is still plugged in then there will be no faults. If it is unplugged, then you get faults.
Do a search, there is loads of info on fitting these. Try searching for Dbilas or Mantzel.
I have one of these on my sport. Was harder fitting than initially thought. Spare a good few hours and make sure you have all the correct tools.

Are you fitting the Dbilas airbox (that fits onto the X16XE lower inlet manifold) or the whole inlet manifold (that replaces the whole inlet manifold and looks like throttle bodies?)

TBH, I would take it to Dave_A to be fitted.
It is a pain in the ass if you don't know what to do. Took me a few hours and major headscratching to figure it out.

cheers for the replies guys- ill get it and have a look to see if i can do it.
as regards the actual thing it is just the top box that fits on the the lower inlet.
what holes need drilling???
think corsanath or someone with a similar name is selling one with the extended bit of loom etc for it so may just end up getting that.
dave a- ill be in touch if i need any help but i think i will be able to sort it out, well tooled up at home.

its the holes in the throttle body that needs drilling.
as for extending the loom, its pretty easy. just find the wires for the tps and icv and strip them back through the loom so that they will reach to the other side of the engine bay. ive got some pics, hang on...

thats legendry dave, you deserve a medal.
bit less in the bank than what i thought so might have to wiat till next pay day. think im just going to get a new one from regal, fit it and then take it to nobles for a unichip to sort all my fuelling etc out and raise the rev limit a bit as it pulls like hell all the way to the limit at the min so its gonna be even better with the inlet hopefully!!!
with the egr dave would you just take it out of the maifold and leave it somewhere secure and sealed so it doesnt bring the management light on??

Ahh ok, it's just I have one of the Dbilas inlets I linked and might need a few pointers when coming to fit it, are you very familar with them?
Can it be put on with the head on without too much agro?

it will go on with the head on. can be srtipped into 2 bits (manifold and throttles & the box part) and fitted easily then.

Cheers Dave, I have assembled (hand tight for now) the inlet and the throttle bodys and intend to put them on and the air inlet last.
The biggest headache I have at the moment is what appears to be missing vacumn tubes, if you look at the pic on the Regal site you can see four small tubes coming up from what seems to be each throttle housing (see pics below), problem is that mine never came with any pipework to fit these brass tubes so don't knwo if they are needed and if they are where they go.

My assembled inlet manifold and throttle bodys - if you look carefully at the pair of throttles on the right you can just make out two small brass tubes pointing upwards - this is where the vacumn tubing goes I think

I think I need to get an instruction sheet for fitting I think!
