as title says would liek to know what is needed to fit an f28 gearbox to my c16xe corsa gsi? there is no reason why it cant be done as i know a few ppl that have doen the opposite i.e fitteed a big block (2.0) to an f13/f15 gearbox. i know i would have to change inner joints to big block ones (obviously)
would i need a custom mount?
what linkage?
what flywheel/clutch?
any help would be appreciated as ive allways thought about doing this...
cheers chris

f28 on a c20xe is a no-no, dread to think what it would be like on a 1.6.

a friend of mine built a nova down here in plymouth, he sprayed it pink lol (some ppl here would have seen it) he was running a cavy sri 2.0 8v engine and mounted it to the original f13 gearbox, i remember him using washers in between the gearbox and engine (dodge lol) to space it out as the clutch cover was skimming the inside of the gearbox...
just some thing i've been thinking about with th f28 on c16xe, slowly building up a new engine, will be supercharged with a eaton m45 charger on low comp bottom end, but thats a long way off yet,, maybe good with an f28 when nearing 200bhp and lots of turque...

ckallis, the ratios are totally unsuitable for a high compression 1600cc engine. if you are thinking about supercharging (not cheap at all), then you may want to think about a custom made gearbox if torque is going to be high
