Just wondered if anyone can tell me which BB suppliers are the best if you have alot of torrent and gaming traffic?

Its for a student house so we want the fastest line possable and one that is fairly cheap

Anyone got any good suggestions of suppliers?

I have been with BT for ages mate and can't fault them. Not the cheapest around but I've never been cut and it's a very quick and reliable service.

Have never really checked out the likes of Wanadoo, Bulldog etc so can't comment on those.

DO NOT go with Tiscali. The connection was awful and there service equally as bad...

I'm with pipex at home and they seem ok, don't think there the cheapest tho...

Nildram seem to have a 50gb cap during peak hours each month?

How bad is this in reality?

Is it possable to live with it when there will be 4 of us in the house and at least 2 of us will be downloading a fair few films etc and playing PS2 online.....

Well, 50gb per month just during the day is good going, even for 4. Any un-used quota rolls over, and the odd occasion we've gone over they've not really cared. Been with Nildram for 3 years or so now.

its enough to download 2 films a day even during peak rate, around 30 albums or a fucking hell of a lot of web browsing UTorrent has a scheduler on it too so i set up all my torrents to go overnight, but then the occasional one that i wanna watch asap just download it anyway and never gone over the limit.

Only just noticed that nildram do 448kbps upload not 832kbps, doubt you will really care but thought id point it out. Not sure if its in line with most of the others, but i just looked on the zen website (good but £££) and they do up to the full 832.

Taken from here:

If it’s felt that any Be unlimited or office member’s Internet activities are so excessive that other members are detrimentally affected, Be may give the member generating the excessive web traffic a written warning (by email or otherwise). In extreme circumstances, should the levels of activity not immediately decrease after the warning, Be may terminate that member’s services.
