please help me the last few weeks iv been geting the same problem
intermittently and its doing my nut
for a few days on the trot the car works fine starts 1st turn of the key evry time but now and then it will have a day or 2 where the eml light comes up showing falt codes for cps and takes ages of turning over to start up
anyone had this problem or come accross it cos i need help
btw the eingine is a 1.6 16v

have you tried changing the crank sensor, or even a quick check of the wiring?
are you reading the fault codes with the engine running? some of the later ecu's pick up the crank sensor fault when you read the codes without it running.

no tried changing yet all wieres seem ok have taken it off to clan as was abit grubby but still doing it
was doing it paperclip stylee and trid both running and off and only workeds when off so went with that one and was only code showing
