If you can give me a GOOD reason as to why a fan would increase it noise level 3-4 fold but put out no more air at all than i might believe it, but something tells me your going to have trouble with that.
Also, you are aware that even in taxing arcade games (like geometry wars, that pushes the cpu about as much as any other game does) the system makes near zero noise. Want to explain why that is too?

The only thick thing here is you tbh.
The single reason you've given since my post on page 3 is 'the cpu is woring harder'. BUt the cpu working hard wont make the fans go any faster if they only run at one set speed. So, once again, give me a GOOD reason as to why the fans noise increase 3-4 fold but no more air comes out of the system.
About time you got yourself a clue.

dont throw your toys out the pram. It hardly matters. but do you have offical prove that these fans are set at one speed? if so i'll find another reason why its not 100% dvd drive noise

The problem with the board warping and the gpu coming off the board also gave a ring of death.
They have addressed this by sticking some epoxy onto it.

hahaha, yea heard about that, is a bit of a bodge but i suppose it works until then get off their backsides and fit the 65nm chips (which isn't going to be in the elite and not for a while i don't think).
Rus - i have a feeling that the fans are single speed and not thermal/cpu-usage controlled, but feel free to find anything to back your comment.

Nobody has confirmed if the 65nm chip is in the elite yet dom, or they hadn't earlier on.
The board has quite a few caps missing from it which could possibly indicate a lower powered core.
