i believe there is a problem with the tappets in my engine, 1.2 N reg, not sure what exact engine, anyways...
are they difficult to replace, if i bought some new ones, could i change them myself?
or would I need a garage to do it, if so any idea on cost?
Thanks alot

my dad just suggested the tappets? what are followers, its just making a tapping noise, which gets faster with higher revs.
i keep meaning to put it in for a change but have no time at the moment.
When it does go in for one, i can choose, normal oil, semi-synth, or fully synth...
i was thinking, go for the semi-synth? would that be the best option?
also, would some oil flush be a good idea or not, i read that it can unblock the engine, but uncover more problems that the gunk in here was covering up??
cheers guys

they cost 8 quid each or something and their are 8 of them, and you need to remove the camshaft to replace them, so unless you know what your doing, NO

too much hassle, and don't have enough time!
I can get it done at local garage for about £16, which includes new filter, oil, actual change and disposal... BARGAIN!
