Charger has given up after 12 months of been on

Please could somebody advise me where to get a cheap charger from?

Gateway LITEON

Model - PA - 1650-02
Input: 100-240v ~ 1.6A 50-60Hz
Output 19V ~ 3.42A

is it the charger or is it the power module thingy in the laptop?

I thought mine was the charger, got a new one but still didnt work. Opened it up and found the power thingy it plugs into was fried (plastic had all broken away) so got a new one and soldered it in.

Laptop screen broke a month after that so fucked it off

Shit hope its not that then...

The power block is dodgy, when i move cable etc it used to come back on, but after an hour and a half of moving it about last night it wouldnt come back

yeah, thats what mine was doing, was moving the bit where it goes into the laptop. Had it taped at one stage as had to keep hold of it otherwise to get any charge.

Was quoted £100 to have it fixed so just did it myself, was easy but just a hassle with taking it all apart!

Will go to staples later I think to get a charger, but its only 12 months old so might still be under warrenty?

(The charger hasn't been off since I've had it

Yeah, think that was my problem, the heat probably fucked up the plastic casing on the power bit iin the laptop as was just all breaking up.

If its under warrenty then get it in as saves fucking it up trying yourself!
