I dont think it makes a difference! 2bhp difference but hardly noticable on the road.
Tuning wise im not sure whats best but i would keep the x16xe. no point swopping for somthing older

No point IMO. Hassle for no gains really. If your doing it for the gains, then stick a C20XE in there.

Its an older engine aswell so any minor advantage it would have had would probably be lost by now. Not really worth it unless something is wrong with your engine.

it depends tbh mate.. i wouldnt swap a x16xe for a c16 if you have a helathy x16.. if your x16 is fooked i would rather get a c16 then another x tbh.. head is better designed. pre ecotec so power will be easier to get..

C16xe also suffered from undersized pistons.
Tuneability is pretty much the same(the egr/sai etc makes no difference to tuning) As you junk all that.
Once you get rid of the standard manifolds etc, your left with pretty much an identical engine to a c16xe.

Take the head off your x16xe and replace it with a c16xe head.
Then take off all the EGR and SAI crap
Then you are sorted
I have a c16xe, and i spend all my money fixing the bloody thing

How much different would you actually notice on a x16xe if you fit it with a c16xe head tho.
Not much imo.
Whats different? Larger intake ports?

maybe an extra 2bhp
BUT
When you change exhaust & inlet it should in theory make a bigger difference.
