I realise it can't be healthy but the oil level is fine and has been. I've changed the oil and filter and it still does the same noise (not that expect it to make much difference)

What's causing this noise?

it will be your tappits.mine does it,mines done 145k and it still goes strong. be reet

mark your engine doesnt have tapets it has hydrolic lifters lol

Is the noise constant?, does it get louder on higher revs? does it stop after a bit of driving?

Could be the cambelt on its way out!

i had this problem, left it a week, but then decided to book it in the garage for a service and cambelt change (just incase), the day before the booking the cambelt snapped! gutted!
