well the cd player was stolen when the previous owner had the car...he never got round to replacing it!
now ive put a cd player in (new plug and ariel connecter) but there seems to be no power gettin to the cd player?tried another cd player in it but still no power

Have you got a multimeter you can test the wires with?
if the stereo was yanked out could of split the wires

fuse in fuse box may have blown... also fuse behind head unit could also have blown

I've got the exact same problem, but at first it used to be the cd player working when the car wasn't running, then dying when it was.
Now it just doesn't work at all, checked the fuse in the head unit, that looks ok, i think the fuses in the fusebox is f1? I checked that and it looks ok too, will probally replace them when i get chance just to make sure.
