the fan is kicking in at 90 on the temp guage instead of around 110* any ideas? my driving temp is just under 90.

The car should run at 92oC anyway, are you sure the gauge is reading right?

yeh it worked fin on the 4 1.4 8v's just when i fitted the c16se.

Change the sensor on the rad that controls when the fan comes on...

i fitted a new radiator, wasn't expecting it to fix that problem.. it never anyway.. there is a single wire that goes to my inlet. i move that about and my temp changes. but thats been replaced to.

only thing i havn't changed is the thermostat.. but thats a big job on this motor.. need to fit a cambelt to get at it, woundered if anybody blamed the thermostat before i started doing it

The thermostat controls how hot/cold it runs, not when the fan comes on.
When you fitted the new rad did you renew the sensor?

no.. i got a complete rad from a 1999 sport at the scrap yard. are they expensive?

The temperature gauge is lying to you the stat is workin fine that jest holds the water in the head til it warms up. They can stick open but thats more of a good thing
