Get friendly with a shop owner, and play it a day before it comes out. Did it with Vice City

I ordered it on Play, they usually arrive the morning of the day of release, and I'm rarely awake before the postman comes anyway. I've ordered the Collector's Edition from Play, and I can't guarantee that I'll get that walking in to Tesco at midnight.

pre orderd it on game site should get it a day before happens alot plus you dont need to sign for it so postie just pops it in the letter box

Do you have to pay up front to pre-order? Or is the money taken when the game gets posted?
Can you use a Game gift card to pre-order because ive just remembered ive got £39.99 on there from a game i took back at xmas
