My laptop hard drive packed up a few weeks back and couldnt be botherd paying the £100+ to get a new one fitted,

How easy are they to fit? are they anything like fitting a pc hard drive simple plug in and away to go?

I know my far share about computers but when it comes to laptops im not 100% sure

laptops a acer 5050.

really easy.. did one on my acer not long back

its jsut a case of uscrewing the panel and sliding it out really

there should be a couple of screws holding on a cover on the bottom and a couple of screws holding the hdd in place then a small block connector to unclip and then the new one should go in.

ah nice one was hoping it would be easy

anyone know of where to get a hard drive that wont cost a bloody bomb My local computer shop wants £170+vat for hard drive and fitted

Some laptops won't have a removable panel for the HDD. Mine didn't. Had to take the entire thing apart.
