Thoughts please people,
1.0 1999 Corsa B. only ever had 1 key (chip) with it, so when a lock set came up with 2 keys (both chipped) i thought great.
Got the 2 keys, ingition barrel & transponder. Changed everything over but the car would only run for 2 seconds before cutting out & the EML flashing. After doing a search some posts said you need the ECU that matches the transponder, anyone know if this correct or is it just the wrong transponder for the keys.
Put the origanal back in, car running fine.
Is there any correct order to swap the transponer over IE disconnect the battery before ETC.
Also are the ECUs specifically for engine types or does one do all.
Your thoughts would be grateful.

you need the original ECU that matches the transponder i believeas its a 3 fold system, the keys send the code to the transponder, which then sends the code to the ECU letting it know that it is the correct key for the car and its ok to be driven, the transponder and keys dont match the ECU so its like putting in the wrong password and the immob kicks in

Cheers for the reply Baz08, makes sense now you've explain it. Will see if i can get the origanal ECU.
Anyone know if its possible to programme the origanal ECU on the car with the new transponder & keys, or is that likely to be silly money.

if you were wanting the ECU programmed you mite as well just go to vauxhall and get a new key made up that is matched to your existing ECU as it would prob cost the same money
