Is the fan still spinning on the card? Might be clogged up with crap.

You could also re-seat the heatsink with some thermal paste.

Sounds like it might be underclocking your card to get it to run cooler.

Should be fine, just switch your machine off at the wall - but leave the power cable plugged in.

Pull it out, give it a good blow out (outside!) but don't be tempted to hoover it due to possible static.

This is a guide for reseating a CPU cooler with arctic silver paste (thermal conducting stuff) - follow the steps in a similar fashion if you want to do your video card

http://www.arcticsilver.com/pdf/appinstruct/as5/ins_as5_singlecore_expsd.pdf

Probably won't need to do this, although is worth trying as a last resort

I hoover all my computer components, with a Dyson, never seem to go wrong? I cant be arsed with buying that compressed air stuff your supposed to use. I have that exact card mate, albeit the GT version, but ive never experienced that problem. I use ATiTrayTools to shut the bastard fan up cos its so loud.

Like the guys have said, its probly just a knackered fan or dust. While youve got the side off give the rest of it a good clean while you are in there, should really be done at least every 6 months

aye its pretty clean ive got 4 fans i think one in the back one on side panel and one on card and one on cpu the one on the side panel is blowing out the way is this right?or should it be sucking in air over the card then out the back?

I have a case with 2 big fans on the side just exhausting air, i dont have any intake fans, i find this is best as then it isnt sucking in particles from the outside air like dust etc

It probably never will - just like people recommending a wrist strap when fiddling around - few people actually do.

It's just to cut out a possible risk to your components

Spose, i always grab hold of a radiator before i go inside, something to do with anti-static, so my dad told me, and he taught me how to build computers
