My tappets are quite noisey after ive been driving the car a while. Im currently using 10/40w oil i would like to know if thicker oil would quiet the engine down a bit. If so what oil should i go for?
15/50? if there is such an oil?

15/40 is menna be a good choice

Tapping USUALLY only happens when the engines cold, as when it warms up, the oil gets hotter, making it thinner, and can circulate more efficiently.
Is the sound definately a tapping sound, or is it more of a rattling sound, because those 12v's are quite noisy engines

its def a tapping sound. and it happens when cold but gets worse after a longish journey down the motorway.

what about an engine flush? Ive heard this may help but i dont really know too much about them.
